What you need

Step 1

              Motherboard               
  • Power down and unplug the laptop before proceeding.
  • Use a Phillips #0 screwdriver to remove the five screws on the base cover.

Step 2

  • Insert a plastic opening tool between the base cover and the chassis.
  • Slide the tool along the perimeter of the case and push down as you go to release the base cover.
  • Lift the base cover up and off.

Step 3

  • Use tweezers to grip the battery’s motherboard plug, and pull the plug directly out of its port.

  • Use a Phillips #0 screwdriver to remove the four 5.2 mm screws securing the battery.

  • Lift the battery up and out of its housing.

  • Remove the four 5.2 mm screws from the fan using the Phillips #0 screwdriver.
  • Use tweezers to carefully unplug the fan ribbon cable.

Step 7

  • Remove the eleven 5.2 mm screws from the motherboard using a Phillips #0 screwdriver.

  • Use tweezers to carefully unplug the four motherboard ribbon cables.

Step 9

  • Use tweezers to carefully unplug the black and red harness cables.

Step 10

  • Carefully lift the motherboard up and out.
