What you need

Motherboard
- Power down and unplug the laptop before proceeding.
- Use a Phillips #0 screwdriver to remove the five screws on the base cover.

- Insert a plastic opening tool between the base cover and the chassis.
- Slide the tool along the perimeter of the case and push down as you go to release the base cover.
- Lift the base cover up and off.

- Use tweezers to grip the battery’s motherboard plug, and pull the plug directly out of its port.

- Use a Phillips #0 screwdriver to remove the four 5.2 mm screws securing the battery.

- Lift the battery up and out of its housing.

- Remove the four 5.2 mm screws from the fan using the Phillips #0 screwdriver.
- Use tweezers to carefully unplug the fan ribbon cable.

- Remove the eleven 5.2 mm screws from the motherboard using a Phillips #0 screwdriver.

- Use tweezers to carefully unplug the four motherboard ribbon cables.

- Use tweezers to carefully unplug the black and red harness cables.

- Carefully lift the motherboard up and out.
