Introduction

A touchpad is a motion-detecting feature that traces a user’s fingers to match the motion of the cursor on the display screen. In this device, the touchpad is connected to the palm rest, so it can’t be removed seperately.

There are ways to solve this through programs in Windows, use this guide before considering replacement: Touchpad or trackpad is not working - ThinkPad - Lenovo Support US

There is also an option to disable your touchpad as a way to bypass your issue: How to enable or disable ThinkPad Touchpad - Windows 7, 10 - Lenovo Support US
