Introduction

Before beginning this guide, power off your laptop and disconnect from the charging cable.

What you need

  • Turn the laptop on to its back.

  • Use the Phillips #1 screwdriver to remove five 1.2 mm screws from the back cover of the laptop.

Step 3

  • Remove the back cover using the opening tool, leaving the laptop back exposed.
  • Use the opening tool to pry the edge and work your way around the perimeter.
  • Careful to undo the clips before removing the back cover.

If you follow these steps the back of the laptop will be exposed so you can work on other components of the laptop.

To put it back together follow these steps in reverse
