Remove keyboard/palmrest/trim screws
- Remove the four keyboard/palmrest screws.
- Remove the two screw holding the keyboard trim. This screw is the same size as the aforementioned screws.

Step 2
Remove palmrest
- Take advantage of the SD card reader hole to pop the first bit up, then use a guitar pick or your fingernails to pull the palmrest up at its seam.
- Remove the touchpad cable by pulling up on its tab.

Step 3
Remove keyboard
- Pull up on the two little tabs jutting towards the screen to pull the keyboard connector off of the motherboard.

Remove trim, speaker and shielding
- Remove the two screws holding down the keyboard trim.
- Remove the two screws securing the left speaker, then move it to the side.
- Remove the five screws holding down the shielding. Note that the long screws used here aren’t as long as the screws used to hold down the keyboard etc., so keep them separate from those.
- Remove the two remaining screws securing the heatsink, and lift the heatsink from the rest of the system, and you are done removing parts!
Remove the two screws holding down the keyboard trim.
Remove the two screws securing the left speaker, then move it to the side.
Remove the five screws holding down the shielding. Note that the long screws used here aren’t as long as the screws used to hold down the keyboard etc., so keep them separate from those.
Remove the two remaining screws securing the heatsink, and lift the heatsink from the rest of the system, and you are done removing parts!
To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
