              Baseplate               
  • Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to loosen the six captive screws.
  • The screws will stay attached to the back cover as you lift it off; do not attempt to remove them.

Step 2

  • Use an iFixit opening tool to start prying under one of the hinges, between the baseplate and chassis, and work your way around the perimeter until the baseplate releases.
  • Lift off the baseplate.

Step 3

              Solid State Drive               
  • Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the 6 mm screw.
  • Use tweezers or an iFixit opening tool to lift the SSD up and away from the thermal pad it rests on.
  • Grip the SSD between your fingers and pull it horizontally to the right at a slight angle until it releases from the port.
  • The thermal pad is slightly sticky, and may stick to the bottom of the SSD as you remove it. If it does, be careful not to damage it, and make sure to reinstall the thermal pad before replacing the SSD.

Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the 6 mm screw.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
