              Baseplate
  • Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to loosen the six captive screws.
  • The screws will stay attached to the back cover as you lift it off; do not attempt to remove them.

Step 2

  • Use an iFixit opening tool to start prying under one of the hinges, between the baseplate and chassis, and work your way around the perimeter until the baseplate releases.
  • Lift off the baseplate.

              RAM
  • Lift the black flap to expose the RAM.

  • Use your fingers to gently pull the two arms on each side horizontally until the RAM springs up.
  • Grip the RAM between your fingers and pull it gently until it releases from the port.
  • When reinstalling the RAM, push it down vertically, toward the motherboard, until the arms audibly click, securing the RAM in place.
