              Baseplate               
  • Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to loosen the six captive screws.
  • The screws will stay attached to the back cover as you lift it off; do not attempt to remove them.

  • Use an iFixit opening tool to start prying under one of the hinges, between the baseplate and chassis, and work your way around the perimeter until the baseplate releases.
  • Lift off the baseplate.

              Battery               
  • Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the four screws securing the battery.
  • On both sides of the plug, use your fingernails to “walk” out the battery cable connector until it releases.

Step 4

  • Remove the battery by lifting it up and out with your fingers
  • The battery should lift out with no resistance. If you feel any resistance, double check that the screws are removed, and that the connector is released from the motherboard.
