              Baseplate

Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to loosen the six captive screws.
The screws will stay attached to the back cover as you lift it off; do not attempt to remove them.

Use an iFixit opening tool to start prying under one of the hinges, between the baseplate and chassis, and work your way around the perimeter until the baseplate releases.
Lift off the baseplate.

Step 3

              Battery

Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the four screws securing the battery.
On both sides of the plug, use your fingernails to “walk” out the battery cable connector until it releases.

Step 4

Remove the battery by lifting it up and out with your fingers
The battery should lift out with no resistance. If you feel any resistance, double check that the screws are removed, and that the connector is released from the motherboard.
