What you need
Step 1
Fan
- Flip the laptop over so that the bottom is facing up.
- Unlock the battery by sliding the keys outwards. When unlocked, push the battery forwards to remove.

Step 2
- Unscrew all 3.7 mm Phillips #0 screws from the back of the laptop. Half of them will remain attached to the cover.
- Lift off the back cover.

- Unscrew the four 5 mm Phillips #0 screws that secure the heatsink.
- The screws will remain attached.
- The Fan is attached to the heat sink assembly.

Step 4
- Use a plastic opening tool or a nylon spudger to push the fan’s bundled cable connector free.
- Remove the fan and heat sink assembly from the motherboard.

Motherboard
- Remove all twelve 3.6 mm Phillips #00 screws.

Remove the Hard Drive
- Remove the hard drive from the motherboard’s by gently pulling it out and up at the same time.

- Pull out the socket that is attached to the left side of the battery case.

- Unplug the cable that attaches the polymer battery to the motherboard by pulling it out carefully.

- Remove the ribbon cable attached to the the battery case carefully by pulling the cable up and out.

- Remove the motherboard from the case. If the motherboard does not come off the case or feels stuck, make sure that you have removed all the cables prior
