- Switch-off the Laptop and remove the battery.
- The HDD/Memory Cover is held by 3x Phillips screws. Remove them.
- Remove the Cover.

- This model has 2x slots for SODIMM SDRAM.
- For ThinkPad Edge E530 you can install 2x modules DDR3 SODIMM up to 16GB.
- For ThinkPad Edge E530c you can install 2x modules DDR3 SODIMM up to 8GB.
