The tablet will not turn on. Screen remains dark.

If your tablet won’t turn on and hasn’t been used in a while, you may simply have a drained battery. Plug your Lenovo TAB 4 8 into a wall outlet using the given charger and adaptor. Using a different, or off-brand, the charger could damage the device/battery. Let the tablet charge for 10 minutes, and try again.

If the tablet will not hold a charge, the battery must be replaced. Please refer to the battery replacement guide.

If changing the battery did not solve the problem, you might have a faulty motherboard. Refer to the motherboard replacement guide.

The camera cannot take clear pictures.

Make sure the lens are clear from any dirt or residue.

If the lens are clear and clean from the outside and the rear camera still does not want to focus and take clear pictures, the rear camera itself may have to be replaced. You can find instructions on how to replace the rear camera on a Lenovo Tab 4 8 here.

Your Lenovo TAB 4 8 does not recognize or read your microSD card.

If your card is not being recognized or read by your Lenovo Tab 4 8, remove your microSD card and check to see if there is any obstruction or debris in the card reader. Once clear, reinsert your microSD card into the reader.

Some microSD cards are not compatible because of its format. To format, you can use a computer to format it by following the instruction on this link:

If by formatting or trying a different microSD card does not solve the issue, then the microSD card reader may need to be replaced. You can find instructions on how to replace the microSD card reader on a Lenovo Tab 4 8 here.

When typing, the vibration does not function like before or not at all.

After making sure that the correct settings for vibration are on, and there is still vibration issues, you have a faulty vibrator. You can find instructions on how to replace the vibrator on a Lenovo Tab 4 8 here.

No audio playing when connected to audio jack.

If your working headphones you are connecting to the Lenovo Tav 4 8 are not playing audio, disconnect them and check to see if there is any obstruction in the audio jack. Use cotton swabs and a small amount of isopropyl alcohol to clear any debris from the headphone jack.
