When you press any key the laptop does not respond.

If the corner of your keyboard is lifted away from its base, then the key cap and key retainer may be damaged, and you will need to replace them. Refer to this article to replace key cap and retainer:

If the filter keys on the keyboard are freezing, then go to Control Panel and turn off filter keys. If the keys are still not responding, then restart the laptop.

When you try to start the computer, the system crashes/freezes.

Restore the hard drive, then continue with a system reboot.

If the computer won’t start up, begin by taking the Lenovo Diagnostic Test. Search for: (https://support.lenovo.com/uu/en/lenovod....). Click “Diagnose and Fix,” then click “Download Lenovo Bootable Diagnostics.” Follow the step by step instructions given by the support team. Try running all 3 Lenovo Diagnostic Tests before attempting to repair the hard drive. If your attempts fail replace it.

Replace the Hard drive. Then continue with a system reboot

If your computer continues to crash refer to the online manual listed below:

When you turn on the computer a blue screen shows up and you can’t start up the windows.

BIOS is non-volatile firmware used to perform hardware initialization during the start up process of the device. In order to get all of the ram to be utilized reset all settings in the bios to default. If this does not work then replace the ram with a compatible version.

Upgrade the RAM (random access memory) card to be compatible with your windows and computer. Usually the Lenovo Ideapad comes with 8GBs of memory. Try upgrading to 16 GBs. Refer to the guide for replacing rams: (http://www.tomsguide.com/faq/id-2333710/… )

The computer’s screen is on, but will not respond and has white or purple lines obscuring the visual display.

You should plug the LCD cable into an external monitor to test if the LCD cable is faulty, and the screen shows a display with white or purples lines then the LCD cable is faulty. However, the cable may be loose, plug it back into the original screen and try to move it back and forth to check if the problem is resolved. If the issue still persists then the LCD cable is faulty and needs to be replaced using this guide.

Plug in the LCD cable to an external monitor to see if it is faulty. If the screen shows a normal display then the gold data cable is loose and the screen needs to be removed to check cables. Remove the screen using this guide. After the screen is removed look to see it if there is a loose cable.If there is reconnect it and the problem should be resolved.

The computer is unresponsive when the power button is pressed on the right side of laptop.

Check to see if the plug to the power adapter is completely plugged into power outlet.

If it is not plug it into the power outlet and try charging it again.

Check to see if the power outlet may have blown it’s fuse by finding another power outlet and plugging your power adapter into it. If the laptop begins charging then the outlet’s fuse was blown or didn’t have the correct amount of voltage to charge the device.

If you plug the power adapter into the computer and it does not charge, then the adapter is faulty. If you plug the power adapter into the side of it and the charging light doesn’t come on, then replace the adapter. If the charging light does come on then the adapter is working and it’s charging.

If the computer will not turn on without having the power adapter plugged in, then the battery is faulty. Replace it using this guide.
