What you need

Step 1

              Battery               
  • Make sure the laptop is upside down, then turn the laptop so that the battery is facing you. Now that the battery is facing you, there will be two locks, one on the left and one on the right.
  • Slide the lock to the right until you can hear a “click”. Once you hear this click, you should be able to see the color red.

Step 2

  • Unlike the first lock, the left lock does not stay in place. You will need to hold it in place as you take the battery out.
  • Slide the second (left) lock to the left and hold it there.

  • Gently pull the battery out.

              Back Panel               
  • Remove the eight 9mm screws with a Phillips #0 screwdriver.

  • Use the plastic opening tool to remove the back panel from the device.
  • Be careful not to force the back off, as you may break the clips keeping it down.

              RAM               
  • Once the back panel is off, locate the RAM.
  • The RAM will be to the right of the SSD (located at the top left of the laptop, if the battery is facing you) and left of the Wireless NIC.

Step 7

  • Using either the plastic opening tool or your finger, push the metal bits keeping the RAM down off of the RAM.
  • After doing this for both sides, the RAM will pop up, allowing you to take it out.
  • While you take out the RAM, remember not to force it. And take caution while holding the card, as you do not want to touch the golden pins at the bottom.
