- Remove the nine 6 mm screws using a T5 Torx Screwdriver.
- Remove the two 10 mm screws using a T5 Torx Screwdriver.

- Use a plastic opening tool to carefully pry off the back cover.

Battery
- Disconnect the battery by using a plastic opening tool or your fingers to push the connector towards the battery.
- Do not pry or pull on the socket itself or you risk damaging the motherboard.

- Remove the three 4 mm screws using a T5 Torx Screwdriver.

Touchpad
- Locate the touch pad and remove the two 3 mm screws using a T5 Torx Screwdriver.

- Disconnect the touch pad chip from the motherboard.

- Disconnect the bronze piece of tape from touch pad and set it off to the side.

- Open the laptop and, with the assistance of the iFixit blue plastic tool, guide the touch pad through, it should come out on its own.
