Introduction
If your motherboard has failed, use this guide to replace it!
Before beginning, power off and unplug your device.

- Remove the nine 6 mm screws using a T5 Torx Screwdriver.
- Remove the two 10 mm screws using a T5 Torx Screwdriver.

- Use a plastic opening tool to carefully pry off the back cover.

Battery
- Disconnect the battery by using a plastic opening tool or your fingers to push the connector towards the battery.
- Do not pry or pull on the socket itself or you risk damaging the motherboard.

- Remove the three 4 mm screws using a T5 Torx Screwdriver.

- Remove the three 4 mm screws using a Phillips #00 screwdriver.

- Lift the hard drive up and out.

Cooling Fan
- Remove the three 5mm screws using the T5 Torx Screwdriver.

- Pull black wire and gray wire away from cooling fan clips using the tweezers.

- Pull out the cooling fan from where it is attached and pull it up until you see where the wire is attached to the motherboard. Using the iFixit Opening Tools, detach the connector.

Step 12
Motherboard
- Grip the plugs, then gently pull the three cables directly out of their motherboard ports.
- Flip up the black lock-bars on the three ZIF connectors, then gently pull the ribbon cables directly out of their ports.

Step 13
- Use a T5 Torx screwdriver to remove the three 4 mm screws.
- Lift the motherboard up and out of the chassis.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
