- Turn laptop over and unscrew the eleven M2 x 6.0mm back cover screws with the Phillips #0 screwdriver.

- Gently lift the cover plate off the body of the laptop.
- Ensure that it does not pull on any components such as the USB ports.

- Unplug the fan connector.
- Carefully pull out the male header with your fingernails.
- Avoid pulling on the wire with a lot of force because this could cause the wire to snap off of the connector frame.

- Remove the five M2 x 4.0 mm screws from the heat sink with a Phillips #0 screwdriver.

- Gently lift the fan away from the computer.
