Step 1

              Get ready with the tools of the trade               

• 13.5 mm (14.1 mm) Phillips and 3 mm Phillips screw drivers.

              The boring secretary work is unavoidable!               

• Remove these 10 screws 10 and try to be polite.

              Lift that bottom up!               

• Remove the lower case and set it aside

              Avoiding shocking news               

• Disconnect the battery connector.

              Screw off               

• Remove the 2 Phillips screws securing the hard drive bracket.

Remove the 2 Phillips screws securing the hard drive bracket.

Step 6

              Lift it up!               

• After lifting the retaining bracket out of the upper case take your HD out.

Step 7

              Last touch!               

• Boot your “new” mac from the external HD by keeping the Option key down.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
