Begin by placing the string that is attached to the lens cover underneath the metal bar located on the right side of the camera.

After successfully placing the string through the metal slab, pull the string all the way to the right which will leave enough room to tie the lens cover to the camera.

Next, create a loop with the string and send the lens cover through the loop. This will create a knot to ensure that the lens cover will always remain on the camera.
Lastly, pull the lens cover to the right which will tighten the knot. To conclude, simply attach the lens cover to the lens.
