              Carbon Brushes               
  • Using a flat head screwdriver, unscrew the brush cap on each side of the mixer by turning them counter clockwise.
  • Remove brush cap by pulling it toward you.
  • The brushes are held in by springs and will fly out if removed too fast.

  • Remove brush by pulling it toward you.
  • One corner of the brush is flattened. You can check which way the brush is oriented by shining a flashlight inside the hole.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.

I’ve been procrastinating on trying to fix my KA mixer on my own…today I did it. The directions were pretty clear and the only thing wrong was that when I had previously cleaned my mixer, I put the carbon brushes in the wrong way. Once I shined a flashlight into the hole I could see where the notched corner went.
