Introduction
What you need
Step 1
Adjust the height
- Lift the mixer arm and locate the large screw where the base meets the arm.
- Using a flathead screwdriver, turn the screw counter-clockwise to raise the beater head or turn it clockwise to lower the beater head.
- The beater head should pass only about 1/16th of an inch above the base of the bowl. One good way to get the height right is to place a dime in the bowl and adjust the height until the beater head barely brushes the dime as it passes.

I have a K5ss by Hobbart. Do you know how to adjust the bowl/beater clearance.?This machine does not have the screw that adjusts the clearance like the K45ss does. The manual tells how to turn a screw to adjust the clearance on a k45ss, but says to consult an authorized dealer for the k5ss. I called around and nobody in my area works on mixers. Is this something I can do myself? Any help would be appreciated.
