The screen is unresponsive or not moving when someone touches it.

To start with the most simple of troubleshooting solutions. Restart your Kindle by holding down the button for 40 seconds or until the screen goes dark. After 30 seconds push the power button again to turn your Kindle back on.

If you have apps or are installing a software update you may experience slowness in the screen or responsive actions. The kindle will also sometimes be slow after an update with a large amount of content. Wait until the downloads have completed.

If the kindle is too hot or too cold then the screen may lock up and be unresponsive. Avoid using the Kindle in extreme conditions so this symptom does not happen.

The screen may be dirty or smudged in some places. Avoid using after eating greasy food, wearing gloves, or after using lotion. Use a cloth to wipe down your screen to clean off the dirt and smudges that may be causing your screen to be unresponsive.

The power and volume buttons are unresponsive.

If the button is unresponsive restart the kindle. ++++

If buttons are damaged then they will need to be replaced. Take the tablet to your nearest phone repair store to replace the buttons.

The kindle will not connect to the wifi or wifi is not working while connected.

Make sure Wi-Fi is enabled in the Kindles settings to successfully connect to the internet.

If your router/modem is not connected properly there will be connectivity issues with the wifi on your tablet. Check to make sure if they are connected properly and are working properly. Restart your router and/or modem. If the problem persists contact your service provider.

The battery is not working as efficiently as it should be.

Kindle should be plugged in with a charger that has been tested to work with another device and if it still does not charge, then the battery will need to be replaced. The battery will also diminish over time and won’t hold a charge as long as it did when first purchased.

No sound coming from the speakers

When there is no sound coming from the speakers, first check the volume button at the top. Push it on the right side of the volume button to see if the speakers were muted.

If that does not work, check to see if the media you are observing has sound. If the media that you are observing has sound, see if you can raise the volume on it or if it even has sound capabilities. If the issues persist to make sure that it is not connected to any other devices via Bluetooth. If the issue still isn’t taken care of you may have to have speakers repaired or tablet replaced.

The user does not remember Kindle Passcode.

The touch screen is not working

If the touch screen is not working the circuit board may be faulty, and may need to be replaced.  You can check this by touching the screen and seeing if anything happens, or if it registers by looking at the screen.
