Introduction
What you need
Step 1
Keyboard
- Attach your anti-static wrist strap to a piece of metal to prevent possible short circuiting. Use a spudger to press in the black clips that lock the keyboard in place. After a majority have been removed, you can simply angle the keyboard and continue to press the clips to remove screws near the motherboard without removing the motherboard.

Step 2
- Using the metal spudger, carefully pick a corner and begin to pop off the keyboard. It is normal to hear a soft clicking sound as the plastic clips snap out of place. This will release the keyboard.

Step 3
- Two cables keep the keyboard anchored in place once the clips have been removed. The thin cables are attached to two white inserts. Unplug this cable to leave just the wide cable remaining.
