What you need

- Find a thread color that matches the fabric you are sewing the button on to.

- Loop the thread through the eye of the needle.
- Tie a small knot around the eye of the needle with the thread.
- Make sure the knot is tight!

- Thread the needle through the fabric from the inside out.
- Tie a knot at the end of the thread after pulling most of it through the fabric.

- Sew the thread in a small ‘x’ where you would like to place the button.
- If you don’t want to sew, then mark the spot with a white fabric marker.

- Place the button over the small stitched ‘x’ or fabric marker spot.
- Thread the needle through the left hole of the button from the inside out.
- Pull the needle and thread all the way through the fabric.
- If you can’t find the hole of the button, thread the needle through the fabric first and then through the button hole.

- Cross the needle over to the right hole of the button.

- Repeat Steps 6-7 four to five times, until you have a secure button.

- Create a thread shank on the inside of the fabric by looping the thread around a stitch.
- Pull the thread all the way through the hole until it is tight.
- Repeat this 2-3 times.
- Tie a knot after the final stitch to secure the stitches.

- Use fabric scissors to cut off excess thread.
