Introduction
OPTIONAL: Dry fit (No glue) the speaker grill to the speaker housing. Attach a single piece of masking tape that wraps from the top to the back of the speaker. Then unfold the speaker grill so the tape acts as a hinge to align the two parts. Then place glue on the retention tabs.
Apply downward pressure on the top of the grill to ensure glue adhesion. Additionally, masking tape can be wrapped around the speaker for the same effect.

- Insert the iFixit opening tool between the speaker grill and speaker housing and pry around the entire perimeter of the device until the grill releases.
- A strong adhesive attaches the grill to the housing, and requires some time and patience to break. Use mild heat to loosen the adhesive if necessary.
