              Front Panel               
  • Turn off the device before proceeding. Failure to do so may result in device damage or injury to oneself.
  • Remove the rubber pads from the bottom of the device using the spudger.

Step 2

  • Remove the eight 6mm T9 screws.
  • Two of these screws are underneath the foam padding. This padding is glued on and will be destroyed in this process. Poking through the foam minimizes the damage to the device.

  • Gently lift the front panel off of the device and carefully rest it to the side.

              Speaker               
  • Gently lift the speaker out of the device using the spudger.
  • The speaker is not fixed in place, and therefore very little force is necessary to remove this component.

Step 5

  • Desolder the two wires connecting to the speaker.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.

This guide is missing something. It is titled Speaker Replacement not just removal. Useful information to complete the replacement of a faulty speaker would include where to find a replacement part or at least a part number to search for. Removing the speaker without replacing it with another is of little use. But thank you for your time and effort.
