Roomba fails to come on.
After cleaning cycle Roomba returns to charging base and fails to dock properly. Manually place device on docking station and ensure indicator lights are illuminated. Look for troubleshooting indicator to indicate any component problems.
Tip: Ensure that no debris is blocking Roombas access to docking station.
Press and hold the clean button for 10 seconds until all lights illuminate. A tone will signify a successful reset.
Note: This will clear scheduled cleanings, reset the clock and resolve some software issues.
Roomba will not charge even if manually placed on the docking station. Ensure all contacts are clean and that the docking station is plugged into to a proper outlet. iRobot recommends replacing these contacts every 6-12 months depending on usage.
Troubleshooting indicator will come on and a voice message will identify the problem. The battery is easy to access on the underside of the Roomba. This guide will walk you through the steps.
Roomba fails to navigate open areas properly pulls to one side or makes circles.
Visually inspect drive wheels for debris in treads or trapped around wheel housing. Clean any debris from treads or housing with a brush.
Visually inspect drive wheels for damage or malfunction. If any damage is found remove and replace drive wheels. Replace the individual drive wheels by following this guide.
Dirt and dust bunny build up noticeable around objects or walls. Side-brush is either damaged or side-brush motor is out. Inspect side-brush to determine which problem is the root cause.
Side-brush has broken one or more of its arms. Follow this guide to replace the side brush.
Side-brush still has all of its arms, but the motor will not turn. Follow this guide to replace the entire side-brush motor assembly.
Clumps of dirt left behind after cycle. Extractor rollers are dirty or damaged. Dustbin is full or dustbin motor has failed.
Roomba has an indicator light that illuminates when dustbin needs to be emptied. Follow the instructions in your Roombas manual to empty the dustbin.
Extractor rollers can become tangled with debris during normal cleaning cycle. Remove rollers from assembly and inspect for damage or debris. Follow this guide to replace damaged extractors. Entire extractor assembly may fail, if the entire assembly is bad follow this guide to replace it.
Device will not clean and you will not hear the motor running and no air will be moving out of the Roomba. Remove dustbin and inspect motor for damage. If motor is damaged a replacement dustbin can be ordered.
