Step 1
Remove Service Panel Screws
- Make sure Pro Data is disconnected from power and Thunderbolt, then set it upside down on an anti-static mat or flat surface with appropriate protection from electrostatic discharge, such as an anti-static wrist strap.
- Using a #2 Phillips screwdriver, remove the two screws securing the service panel into place.

Dislodge Service Panel
- Turn Pro Data over to the top side. Grip the chassis from the long sides, and push the service panel slightly down and away from the vent. It should slide about 5mm or .2" before stopping.
- Grab the service panel from the left edge and lift up about 30°, dislodging its tabs from the vent, and remove to reveal the chassis interior.

Remove screw covers
- Remove the four screw covers and place them upside down on a clean surface for later application during reassembly.

Unfasten vent panel
- Unscrew the four T4 Torx screws revealed beneath the rubber feet.
- Grab Pro Data around the vent panel to prevent it from dropping, and flip the chassis right side up.

Remove vent panel
- Remove the vent panel by lifting directly up to dislodge it from the brace.

Unfasten heatsink
- Incrementally unfasten the two sprung screws using a 3mm flathead screwdriver, being careful not to let the driver slip out and damage other motherboard components. These screws are retained with the heatsink as it removed.

Remove heatsink
- Gently remove the heatsink from its socket by lifting directly up, revealing the Memory module underneath.

Remove heatsink thermal pad
- Using a spudger or non-metal tool, remove the thermal pad from the heatsink. Replace this with the 1.5mm thermal pad provided with the replacement Memory module kit.

Remove Memory module
- Push the two retaining clips away from the Memory module to allow it to spring up at an angle.
- Carefully remove the Memory module by gripping both short sides and pulling away from its socket at an angle. This will reveal a second thermal pad attached to the motherboard.

Remove motherboard thermal pad
- Using a spudger or non-metal tool, remove the thermal pad from the motherboard. Replace this with the 2mm thermal pad provided with the replacement Memory module kit.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
