The tablet does not respond and shows no signs of power

Ensure that the tablet as been plugged in and left to charge for several hours before attempting to power on again.

Ensure the housing of the button has not come loose, using a small needle release the pressure by running it around the crease of the power button.

If the tablet only powers on when connected to the charger, then the battery may be faulty. Consider replacing the battery using this guide.

When connected to a charger, tablet does not charge.

If the tablet is not charging, ensure the charging cord is not faulty. This will require an additional working charging cord from either the original manufacturer or equivalent.

If the tablet only powers one when connected to the charger, and fails to hold a charge when not connected, then the battery may be faulty. Consider replacing the battery using this guide.

If there is any damage to the charge port consider replacing following this guide.

Tablet loads to Insignia logo before going black, and repeat.

Look at the power button and ensure that it is not stuck pressed inwards. If button is stuck, check for any debris that may be holding the button. If nothing can be found, try using a small needle to unlodge the button.

Note: All user data will be erased and is not recoverable

Make sure tablet is connect to charger as dying during process could damage the device. Power the tablet fully off. Now press on HOLD the Volume + button. While holding the Volume + button, press the Power button until the screen lights up and shows the Insignia logo, then release the Power button ONLY.

Continue holding the Volume + button until one of two screens appear.

  • A.) A screen appears with only an Android mascot in the background. If this happens let go of Volume + and press it one time.  You should then see the screen shown in item ‘B’B.) A list of options in the top left of the tablet screen.

Use the Volume - button to select “wipe data/Factory reset” and use the Power button to select it. Select “Yes — delete all user data” and select it with the Power button.

The tablet takes a long time to load applications or freezes occasionally.

Ensure that there aren’t too many applications running in the background by opening task manager by tapping the recent apps button and closing any apps.

Open web browser, and make sure there aren’t excessive windows open. Make sure to close any browser windows that aren’t currently in use.

Uninstall and remove any unneeded apps, videos, pictures, etc. Open the settings > applications > manage applications. Select an app choose uninstall.

Open the task manager by tapping the recent apps button and close open apps that aren’t in use.

To reset the device, first, go to the Menu and find and select Settings. Now choose Backup & Reset and tap Factory data reset. Then choose Reset device and select Erase everything to confirm the whole operation.

When multiple applications are open, the tablet stops working or force shuts down applications.

Open the task manager by tapping the recent apps button, select close all applications.

Ensure that there aren’t too many applications running in the background by opening the task manager by by tapping the recent apps button and closing any extra apps.

Currently there is no fix for this issue. Message the manufacturer and request current software update.
