Introduction
The top plate may be cracked and need replacing, but more often, this component requires removal in order to provide access to other components of the device such as the projector, such as the lamp, fan, lens, and DMD chip.
Properly performing this step is vital in repairing other components of the device.
What you need
Step 1
Top Plate
- Use a Phillips #1 screwdriver to remove the 1.2 cm Phillips-head screw from each side of the projector.

- Use your hands to slide the top plate off of the projector.
- Lift and remove the plate.
Use your hands to slide the top plate off of the projector.
Lift and remove the plate.
To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
