              The broken knob
  • After two years the knob broke.
  • I tried to glue it together using JB Weld. It did not work. After I re-installed the knob and turned it for the first time, it just broke again.
  • IKEA is no help. On the other hand they praise their engagement for the environment, on the other hand they don’t supply any spare parts.

Step 2

              Use another knob
  • So I just tried a knob I had laying around for my synthesizers and it worked perfect! The outer diameter is a bit small, so maybe order a bigger outer diameter.
  • The inner diameter is 6mm and a part of the shaft is flat.
  • As an example I have put a link to a (german) distributor in this instruction. The order number is KNOPF 13-164B, the distributor is reichelt.de.
