- Place a sheet of paper under the foot. In the event that the needle falls out, this will prevent it from falling into the bobbin area.

- Hold onto the needle with one hand, and use a Singer #412381501 screwdriver to loosen the needle clamp screw (model: Viking #4125825-01) located next to the top of the needle with the other hand.

- Discard the broken or unwanted needle, and select a new one.
