Step 1

              Engine Prep
  • Run engine, approximately 3 to 5 minutes, until the engine oil is warm to allow for better draining flow in the next steps.

Step 2

              Gaining Access to Oil Drain Hose
  • Detach the top of the oil drain hose from the machine by moving the hose slightly downward. This will clear the hook holding the hose in place.

              Draining Oil from the Engine
  • Place the oil drain pan below the machine to catch the draining oil. The pan will be located directly below where the yellow oil drain hose cap is in this picture.
  • Then remove the cap from the oil drain hose to allow the oil to drain into the pan.
  • Allow enough time for most of the oil to drain from the engine before proceeding to the next step.

Step 4

              Removing Old Oil Filter
  • Clean area around the old oil filter with paper towels to prevent contaminants from entering the engine once the oil filter is removed.
  • Remove the old filter and place it in a location for correct disposal according to local guidelines.
  • Clean up any spilled oil from the removal of the filter with paper towels.
  • Clean the location where the oil filter attaches to the engine one last time to ensure no contaminants are present.

Step 5

              Installing New Oil Filter
  • Remove the oil filter from the package and place it in a stable location.
  • Take a small amount of fresh oil and apply it to the gasket of the filter.
  • Install the new oil filter in the reverse order of the removal process.
  • The filter should be hand tightened to ensure a proper seal occurs with the gasket on the oil filter. Ensure the filter is not tightened to the point where it will be difficult to remove during the next oil change
  • Once all old oil has drained from the engine, replace the oil drain hose to the original location following the steps used to remove it, in reverse.

Remove the oil filter from the package and place it in a stable location.

Take a small amount of fresh oil and apply it to the gasket of the filter.

Install the new oil filter in the reverse order of the removal process.

The filter should be hand tightened to ensure a proper seal occurs with the gasket on the oil filter. Ensure the filter is not tightened to the point where it will be difficult to remove during the next oil change

Once all old oil has drained from the engine, replace the oil drain hose to the original location following the steps used to remove it, in reverse.

Step 6

              Adding New Oil to the Engine
  • Remove the dipstick with the yellow cap and clean it as well as the pipe where the dipstick was located. Ensure no contaminants are able to enter the engine during this process.
  • Place the dipstick on a paper towel and set aside
  • Place the funnel in the pipe where the dipstick was located.
  • Add the proper amount of new oil to the engine.

Step 7

              Finishing Up the Oil Change
  • Remove the funnel from the pipe and replace the dipstick.
  • Check to ensure the oil level is in the correct location on the dipstick. If it is not, make the necessary changes to achieve the correct level.
  • All tools should be removed and put in the proper storage locations.
  • Dispose of the used oil, filter, and paper towels according to local regulations.
  • Start the engine and ensure no leaks are present around the oil filter.

Remove the funnel from the pipe and replace the dipstick.

Check to ensure the oil level is in the correct location on the dipstick. If it is not, make the necessary changes to achieve the correct level.

All tools should be removed and put in the proper storage locations.

Dispose of the used oil, filter, and paper towels according to local regulations.

Start the engine and ensure no leaks are present around the oil filter.

Now that the oil change is complete, ensure all contaminated oil products are properly disposed of according to local regulations.
