What you need

Step 1

  • Heat the back of the device (e.g. with a warm bottle).
  • Then use a suction cup to lift the back a bit and insert a pick into the gap. Guide the plectrum once around the smartphone and loosen the glue, then remove the back cover.
  • Note the cable for the fingerprint sensor.
  • The back is made of a quite flexible plastic. Thus, you cannot easily destroy the back
  • There is a sticker with the serial number on the back. This has to be removed so that the suction cup holds well.

  • Now release the cable on the left side.
  • First, carefully bend the metal bracket that holds the cable on the right side a little to the side and then loosen the screw that holds the cable.
  • Then carefully pull the cable upwards.

  • The battery is very firmly glued to the case.
  • Be careful when removing it!
  • I put the phone on a hot water bottle with the display facing down. This is not the best solution, but it works.

  • To reassemble the smartphone, you first need to remove the adhesive residue that is present around the frame.
  • Then follow the last steps backwards.
  • Do not bend the metal bracket for the left cable back until you have already screwed the cable.
