- Remove the two 1.17mm Torx T3 screws from the bottom of the phone.

- Use the Sim card ejection tool to remove both the sim card trays.

- To prepare the iOpener insert it in the microwave for 30 seconds and apply it on the side edges of the phone so that the glue underneath will soften.

- Pry off the back with a plastic opening tool.

- Remove the pink sticker.

- Remove the battery from the phone.

Just did this successfully, thanks for the steps.
I’d suggest adding to BE CAREFUL WHEN PRYING OUT THE BATTERY. #1 there is the screen cable under there and if you damage that, then have fun getting a new screen. #2 lithium batteries can ignite when punctured (like I did). Go easy working your way in and take note of where the screen cable is (lower black cable in step 9 image).

11/09/19 - What is this pink sticker called so I can purchase a replacement? Can copper foil, conducive tape be used in place of the clear pink sticker? I would appreciate answers to both questions please. Thank you.

Anyone know where I can get replacement 1.17mm Torx T3 screws? Mine came stripped. I had a tough time getting them out and don’t want to use the same ones to put back in.

I have an Honor 5x, model KIW-L24. It has T2 torx screws, not T3, at the bottom, and I am totally unable to open it after removing the screws and the two SIM trays, Is mine somehow different?
