What you need

              Prerequisite               
  • Make sure the phone’s battery is discharged to 25% or below. Because…
  • Power off the device.
  • Remove the phone case.
  • Use a SIM tray ejector tool to eject the SIM tray. Put the SIM tray and SIM card to one side.

Step 2

              Back case               
  • Put the phone on its front. Move a heat gun around the edge of the phone to loosen the adhesive under the back case. Apply heat for around one minute.
  • Insert a corner pick in between the back cover and side of the phone, and gently slide the pick all around the edge of the phone, cutting through the loose adhesive.
  • Do not insert the pick too deep, as you risk breaking the components inside as you move the pick around.
  • Lift the back case gently until it is separate from the rest of the phone. Lay the back case on its back.
  • The back case and the rest of phone are connecting by the finger print reader cable, so make sure not to pull the back case too much, less you tear the cable.

Put the phone on its front. Move a heat gun around the edge of the phone to loosen the adhesive under the back case. Apply heat for around one minute.

              Motherboard bracket               
  • Use a Phillips #00 Screwdriver to remove 9 blahblah screws.
  • Use a Phillips #00 Screwdriver to remove 3 blahblahblah screws.
  • Use a spudger to pry off the motherboard bracket.

Step 4

              Fingerprint reader cable               
  • Use a spudger to gently pry off the connector of the fingerprint reader cable.
  • Put the back case to one side.
  • The fingerprint reader should still be connected to the back case.

Step 5

              Motherboard cable and battery cable               
  • Use a spudger to gently pry off the motherboard connector.
  • Use a spudger to gently pry off the battery connector.

Step 6

              Battery               
  • Peel the 3 stickers in the given numbered order.
  • Firmly grip the stickers and peel the battery up.
  • Peel off the underlying sticker.

              Display cable               
  • Use a spudger to gently pry off the display cable connector.

              Screen
