When writing in HTML, the tag was used to contain a set of elements. It also designated the number of columns or rows (frames) in the frameset, and how much space they would occupy respectively. The following sections contain information about the tag, including an example of its code, and related attributes and browser compatibility. Example of code Attributes Within an HTML tag, an attribute dictates certain aspects of an HTML element. Attributes are made up of a name and value pair; all tags support standard attributes. The tag is deprecated, but at one time it utilized the unique attributes contained in the following table. The element is not supported going forward. We recommend using either the or tag with CSS to achieve a similar effect.
