What you need

Step 1

              Unscrew the head strap mounts
  • Be sure to power down and disconnect your Vive before beginning.
  • Use a T5 Torx driver to remove the two 12 mm-long screws securing the head strap mounts on either side of the headset.
  • The mounts may fall off when the screws are removed, so be careful not to lose any parts.

Step 2

              Remove the head strap mounts
  • Remove the left head strap mount from the Vive.

              Separate the head strap mount components
  • Pull the rubberized grip off of the head strap mount.

  • Push the internal locking mechanism out of the grip.

Step 5

  • Repeat the previous three steps with the right head strap mount to remove it and separate its components.

Compare your new replacement part to the original part—you may need to transfer remaining components or remove adhesive backings from the new part before installing.

To reassemble your device, follow the above steps in reverse order.

Take your e-waste to an R2 or e-Stewards certified recycler.

Anybody knows where i can get the part, that is removed in step 3? On the picture it stays with the head strap mount, but the headstrap is sold without it. Im espacily looking for the plastic part, where the screw goes through.

same man, my headstrap mount and a tracker dongle broke and theres no way to replace it. fml
