What you need

Step 1

              Battery               
  • Flip the laptop over so the model sticker faces the ceiling.

  • Use a Torx #5 screwdriver to remove the six 3.5 mm screws holding the back cover to the laptop.

  • Use the Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove the four 3.5 mm screws holding the battery.
  • After removing the screws, detach the battery wire from the mother board with the iFixit opening tool.
  • Then, carefully lift the battery off with the iFixit opening tool.

              Fan               
  • Locate the Cooling Fan in the device.

  • Use the Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove the 3mm screws holding the fan in place.
  • Remove the wires connecting to the motherboard, using the iFixit opening tool.
  • The iFixit Opening Tool is not required, but recommended

  • Remove the Cooling Fan.

              WiFi Card               
  • Locate the WiFi card.

  • Use the Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove the screw holding the wifi card in place.

  • Once the screw is removed, raise the WiFi card and slide it out from the motherboard.

              Motherboard               
  • Ensure that all other components which were previously removed are not longer attached.

  • Disconnect the wires which connect the motherboard to the rest of the components.
  • The black and red wire can be removed by pulling the wire upwards.

  • Use the Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove the three 3.5 mm screws which keep the motherboard in place.
