- Turn off and unplug the laptop.
- Flip the laptop so that the backplate is exposed.

- Remove the eight screws with the T5 Torx screwdriver.

- Using the plastic opening tools carefully lift the backplate.

- Remove the 4 screws holding down the battery with the Phillips #1 screwdriver.

- Disconnect the 3 wires connected to the battery.
- Tweezers may be needed to disconnect the wires.

Step 6
- Lift the battery off of the alignment pins on the top cover and remove it from the device.
