When I power on my computer, I can hear the computer start up but the screen is dark/faint.

To fix this, just locate the F3 key at the top of the keyboard and press the button until you see the screen beginning to become brighter.

If the computer is turned on and the screen is still dark, the computer could require a hard reset. To go about this, locate the power button at the top left of the keyboard and hold it down for approximately 8-10 seconds. After that, turn the computer back on and a start screen should appear. Use the arrow keys to navigate to “Start Windows Normally’ and press the enter key and windows should begin to power on.

If the screen is still dark after attempting to turn the brightness up, then the screen assembly is faulty and will need to be replaced.

When the computer turns on, the screen is only partially lit up or cracked.

Since the screen is only partially lit or cracked, the screen will need to be replaced.

When my laptop is on, it is loud and making very odd noises.

If the laptop is making noises, this could very well be because the fan has accrued some debris such as dust or other substances. Try using some canned air or other type of spray to remove the debris from the fan.

The fan could be partially broken or maybe not even working. Consider purchasing a new fan for replacement.

After plugging the laptop in from the charging cable, the laptop shows no sign of charging.

If the laptop is not charging with the cable plugged into the computer, double check that the power adapter is plugged into a working outlet and that the wire has no kinks or defects to it. If everything looks good on the cable, there may be an issue with the laptops battery.

Since the laptop is not registering a charge from the charging cable, the battery may not be capable of holding a charge, causing the battery to be malfunctioning. Consider replacing the battery.

When I try to play a video or music from my laptop, there is no sound coming from the speakers.

Locate the F11 and F12 keys at the top row of keys on the keyboard. Press the F12 key until the volume begins to increase.

The windows software has an audio mixer program that enables users to control volume for each program that’s on. Locate the volume mixer on the bottom right of the screen (next to the date and time). It’s the speaker icon. Right click on the icon and left click the open volume mixer. Check if volume is muted on the application program you are using.

Sometimes the output device settings gets changed (when using earphone or other speaker devices). Locate the volume mixer and right click the icon. Left click the “Open Sound Settings.” On the very top, of the page will be the “choose your output device” tab. Left click on the tab and make sure you have the desired device selected.

If all of the above options do not resolve the issue, the audio driver may need to be replaced. Consider purchasing one for replacement.
