- Turn the laptop upside down with the battery compartment facing you.

- Slide the battery release latch to the right and hold in place.

- Lift the front edge of the battery up and remove it from the compartment.

Heat Sink
- Position laptop with heat sink compartment facing you.
- Locate the one 2x5 mm Torx screw.

- Remove the one 2x5 mm Torx screw securing the thermal cover with a #6 Torx screwdriver.

- Lift thermal cover to reveal heat sink.
- Remove and set aside thermal cover.

- Locate the four screws on each corner of heat sink.
- Unscrew the four 2x12 mm screws with a #00 Phillips screwdriver.

- Grab sides of heat sink and carefully lift from compartment.
- Due to adhesive bonding of heat sink to base, wiggling it side to side before lifting might help removal process.
