              Keyboard               
  • Make sure your computer is powered down and unplugged from the charger before removing any components.
  • Remove the ten 8.9mm screws (underneath where the battery would be) holding the keyboard and bezel in place.

Step 2

  • Flip the computer over to the front (keyboard-side up).
  • Gently pop the bezel off by reaching underneath it and pulling up.
  • If you are doing this for the first time, the bezel may require you to exert a little bit more force to remove it.

Step 3

  • The keyboard is held in by three small tabs near the bezel of the computer. Lifting the bezel frees the three tabs.
  • If you are removing the keyboard, the tabs will require a bit more upward force to pull away from the keyboard.
  • Remove the ribbon connecting the keyboard to the computer by pulling back on the ribbon (away from the track pad).

I am a computer imbecile. I own a hp pavilion dv2000 that is about 10-12 years old.

I may now be able to FIX it and not have to buy a whole new one
